EEDCO, a leading manufacturer in Frederick, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a CAD Technician.

The CAD Technician will work the hours of 7:00 am – 3:30 pm Monday – Friday. This is a full time, benefits eligible position.

Role and Responsibilities:

Job Description:

As a CAD Technician at EDCO, you will be responsible for executing routine design projects, creating 3D CAD models, and producing detailed drawings for sheet metal, machine shop, and welding processes. You will work closely with the engineering team to bring concepts to life, utilizing your CAD skills and fabrication knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

3D CAD Modeling:
Develop detailed 3D CAD models based on layouts, sketches, and physical measurements.
Generate production drawings for sheet metal, machine shop, and welding applications.
Assembly and Presentation:
Utilize 3D models to assemble components for research, presentations, and client interactions.
Manipulate CAD models and drawings to create technical documents for customer use.
Revitalization and Efficiency:
Apply CAD skills and fabrication knowledge to enhance and revitalize existing parts and equipment.
Understand and leverage fabrication capabilities to maximize efficiency in production processes.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet project requirements.
Provide clear and concise communication through oral and written channels.
Quality Control:
Ensure accuracy and precision in dimensioning, tolerancing drawings, and 3D assembly drawings.
Use calipers, micrometers, and basic shop tools for quality control purposes.
Qualifications:

Associates degree (or working towards) and at least two years of experience in 3D modeling and 2D layout drawings OR five years of CAD modeling work experience.
Knowledge of Solidworks or Autodesk is preferred but not required.
Expertise in sheet metal design, machined parts, and weldment drawings.
Proficient in dimensioning, tolerancing drawings, and 3D assembly drawings.
Computer literacy and strong keyboarding skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
